What is the Technology Teacher of the Year (TTOY) Award?

Each year McAllen ISD is proud to name a Technology Teacher of the Year for the Elementary and Secondary levels. This award recognizes the outstanding efforts of classroom teachers who use curriculum-centered, standards-based practices for integrating technology into his/her classroom, participate in ongoing technology-related, high-quality professional development opportunities and are active contributors to a technology-related community of practice.

Who is eligible for the TTOY award?

The McAllen ISD Technology Teacher of the Year award is open to all certified PK-12 educators. The primary job responsibility of the applicant must be teaching in the classroom at least 50% of the day.

Who can nominate a TTOY candidate?

Nominations may be self-submitted. In addition, a school administrator, technology coordinator, technology committee, teacher colleague or other appropriate school organization personnel can submit a nomination for TTOY.

When will the Technology Teachers of the Year finalists be announced?

Finalists will be announced at the District Technology Honors Awards Presentation in May. Finalists will be notified in advance.
